Description: Stitches West is the last weekend in February. The dates of the show are from the 24th-26th with the hours being 10-6pm on Friday and Saturday and 10-4pm on Sunday. Materials Needed: One Spinning Wheel (can be rented with registration) Fiber included in the instruction fee.

Learn to spin your own yarns on a spinning wheel. In this two hour course we’ll cover the basics of how a spinning wheel works and learn to draft and spin a continuous thread.

Cost: $85 w/wheel rental $70 w/o wheel rental

Materials needed: 1 drop spindle, wool and instructional sheet

Students will be given a brief overview about the history of spinning. What is spinning and what can be spun, an overview of fibers. Students will also learn finger spinning a short length of yarn, spinning with a drop spindle as tool to spin faster, learn the park and draft method, transition to drop spindling w/ gravity as students become comfortable. Each student that purchases the class with materials will be going home with a Greensleeves Bare Bones Drop Spindle, a couple ounces of wool and written instructions.  Students that already have a Drop Spindle can choose the second option in the drop down menu and purchase the class at a discount rate of only $30. Instruction will last for 1 hour.
