Crochet Amigurumi Day 1

Beginning Crochet Amigurumi: Bird or Dragon
Two part class on Saturday 6/25 & 7/2
Level of Experience: Must know how to do chain stitch and single crochet
Recommended Age Group: Age 8 and up
Class Size: 8 (min. 2) – 7 spaces left
Instructor: Kira Dulaney

Materials for bird (dragon): 70(160) yards smooth yarn in worsted weight to bulky weight (larger yarn will make a larger toy), crochet hook that makes a dense fabric with your yarn in single crochet, darning needle, scissors, safety eyes 5mm-12mm depending on the size of your toy (not needed until 2nd class), removable stitch markers.

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals. Learn the basics of amigurumi by making this cute, quickly crocheted bird or dragon. Kira will have instructions as well as stuffing for your toy and felt for the bird’s beak. A bird crocheted with worsted weight yarn will be approximately 4″ tall and a dragon crocheted with aran weight yarn will be approximately 7″ tall. Amigurumi toys are all the rage right now, and a great way to improve your crochet skills on a small project. This is a great skill building class for beginning crocheters, plus you get to have a fun friend to take home!
