Miniature Socks

Date: January 8th
Time: 2:30 – 5:00p.m.

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate (familiar with basic knit and purl stitches)
Instructor: Kira Dulaney
Class Size: 8 (min. 2)

Learn the basics of knitting socks in just two and a half hours by making these adorable mini socks!  Knitting in the round starting at the cuff, you’ll make a basic flap heel and tapered toe, learning to pick up stitches and work three different decreases.  You should know how to knit and purl, and experience knitting in the round would be helpful but isn’t required.
Materials: Keychain Sock Blocker Kit, size 0 or 1 double-pointed needles (2 circulars or magic loop needles are okay if you’ve used them before) and a darning needle. We will provide sock yarn for one mini sock.

Note, if you have never knit with double-pointed needles AND never knit with tiny needles, or if you have vision issues, we recommend that you bring worsted weight yarn and size 5 or 6 double-pointed needles for your first (toddler size) sock, then move on to the sock weight yarn and smaller needles for the second one.
